Lama Foundation, 2007
In some ways Palo Santo Designs LLC got its start at Lama Foundation near Taos, NM. In the formative years of the business Mark Giorgetti spent a lot of time at Lama Foundation helping with the reconstruction after a devastating forest fire almost completely wiped out the Community in 1996.
The year after the fire Lama began the rebuilding. The commitment was to build sustainably and use the local materials; fire killed timber, adobe, straw, clay, stone. And so it went for several years with the collaboration of many builders, artisans, designers, spiritual leaders, and willing people.
